42 earns.... 43!
Week 1 of our brand new Pop Culture trivia league kicked off last night, and we had 12 teams come out. A prize pool of $120 for the night gave $60 to the night's winner, and $60 to the Championship prize to be awarded at the end of this season.
The night's winner was a "come from behind" victory, as 42 earned 43 points, and the win, for the night. The clincher for 42 was the Bonus Round question. Gambling big they valued it at the maximum 20 points for their team. An Abba fan on the team was very useful, as they got that right and won the night!
A strong showing was also had by the Hoopleheads in second place. They scored one of only 2 perfect scores in a round for the evening.
All of Week 1's questions and answers are posted in the forum over at www.QuizNight.net. We've also posted some links up there so you can click through and hear/purchase the songs used in the Cover Songs round.
We would also like to express our sincerest apoligies for the delay due to some technical difficulties with the multimedia portion of the night. Rest assured, we are working dilligently with Jillian's to determine the cause of the problems, and promise that we will be at maximum Warp speed next week! (2 categories scheduled for play in week 1 but could not come to be, will make an appearence in next week's quiz)

I don't really think its right that you didn't do anything about the team that so obviously cheated. I won't be back.
I'm sorry you feel that a team cheated, I'm assuming by using more than 6 players (you didn't get specific in your comment). As I told you the night of the quiz, I can't really do anything after the fact, and asked for the team name you were accusing. Unfortunately without the team name, I have no idea who you are referring to. Every effort is made to make the quiz fair for everyone involved, and "cheating" is not tolerated, when discovered.
I hope you change your mind and come back. Remember, its supposed to be fun!
Although I appreciate the added strategy of gambling points in the Bonus Round, I think that's one down side too. It would not be difficult to prepare a cheat sheet, and with 20 points usually determining the winner (~$60), there's plenty of incentive to.
Hope I didn't give anyone any ideas... :)
